The First Consultation of 2016 Held at MTAES


On January 11, the first consultative meeting of 2016 was held at the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, chaired by Minister Armen Yeritsyan.

The Minister thanked the rescue service employees for their active and efficient work carried out during the holidays, touched upon the achievements of 2015 and upcoming activities:

- Summing up the year of 2015, we can note, that our Ministry had recorded obvious achievements, though there were gaps as well. Firstly, we should carry out activities on refilling the shortcomings, as well as providing the normal process of the projects initiated last year and strengthening cooperation with international organizations.

Rescue Service Director, r/s Lieutenant-General Sergey Azaryan reported on accidents registered, measures undertaken during the holidays and the ongoing activities. Rescue Service responded to 676 cases during the period from December 31 to January 10. S. Azaryan informed, that all fire and rescue detachments and the technical equipment are in good working order and ready for rapid response.

Director of “Service of Hydrometeorology and Active Impact to Atmospheric Phenomena” SNCO of MTAES L. Vardanyan presented the weather forecast for the upcoming days, referred to the activities implemented during the holidays. L. Vardanyan informed, that air temperature fluctuations would hardly be observed till January 15, but precipitation in the form of snow would be recorded in the regions. The Minister was also briefed about the installation of anti-hail stations in the regions.

Once again, referring to the active collaboration with the regions, Minister Yeritsyan instructed to regularly visit the regions get acquainted with the key problems of the communities and suggest solutions. The Minister noted, that communities enlargement program will be continued, and the Ministry will make every effort to ensure the program will not be an end in itself.

Taking part in the online weekly consultation, the Head of State Emergency Service AG NKR and the heads of regional rescue departments reported on the incidents registered and the current activities implemented during the holidays. The Minister was also briefed about the passable roads in the regions and in NKR.
